Kentaro Mizutani
(Technical Director, Design Engineer)

Born in Nagoya in 1982. After completing the DSP course in 2009 at the International Academy of Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS) run by Gifu Prefecture, became a freelancer following work at a Web production company. Belongs to creative units like NODE and ovaqe in addition to launching mitz in his own name and works as a technical director and a design engineer.
Wataru Sano
(Art Director / Chief Editor, Refsign Magazine / Part-time instructor, Ritsumeikan University, Seika University)

Deals in many design areas including graphic, movie, web and event designs. Working not only from the standpoint of “things” but also from that of “matters.” Opened a self-designed and self-produced Italian restaurant, “Osteria tempo,” in 2010. Also runs “Refsign Magazine Kyoto” based on the themes of “Kyoto,” “design,” and “community.”

Kazutoshi Tsuda
(Assistant Professor, Osaka University Creative Design Studio on Technology / Suitendo / FabLab Japan)

Born in Shinjomura in Okayama Prefecture in 1981. Ph.D. from the Chiba University Graduate School of Science and Technology, Diversity and Fractal Science, in 2008. Assistant professor at the Osaka University Creative Design Studio on Technology since April, 2011. A member of the executive committee of the International Conference of Design for Sustainability and in charge of participants in the United Nations University Summer School for Bird’s-eye View Experts on Environment. While focusing on the flow and circulation of things, studies the relationship between people and the environment. While still in college, established a “committee for reconsidering use of bicycles” a public design project to redefine the use of bicycles in society. Since 2008, he has been organizing Suitendo, a place for young designers, businesspeople and researchers to gather and share a variety of viewpoints in an effort to draw a clear picture for sustainable life. Recently, he has been exploring the possibility of establishing a FabLab Japan office in the Kansai area to promote “democracy” in manufacturing things.

Subaru Matsukura

Born in Furano in Hokkaido in 1983. Graduated from the Ritsumeikan University College of Social Sciences. Worked as a web planner at a website production company in Tokyo for 2 years. In April 2008, he moved on to 1-10design and left in 2011. Founded the ovaqe inc. in December 2011. Creator of the HOTEL ANTEROOM KYOTO’s website and consults on the hotel’s media branding. Curator of the hotel’s GALLERY9.5. In his private time, he runs workshop events for creators called the “NIT west” and also runs the music portal site “your unknown music.”
